Are You The Solution?

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.

 

Whenever something is showing up negatively for you,  such as an emotion, an argument with a family member or co-worker,  stress, tiredness, or even boredom; I want you to ask yourself the following question…

If I am being completely honest with myself, are my thoughts, repeated actions and mindset helping or hurting this situation currently, AND, as I move into the future?

Are my THOUGHTS and ACTIONS: 

A part of the problem   OR   A part of the solution

Adding to   OR   Removing from

Helping   OR   Hurting

Contracting   OR   Expanding 

Regenerating   OR   Degenerating

Open   OR   Closed 

Stressed   OR   Homeostasis

Separate   OR  Connected

Energy loss   OR   Energy gained

Breaking the system down   OR   Repairing the system

I don’t know about you, but, when my thoughts are left unmanaged, they get the best of me (actually the worst:)!  Half of my adult life I've looked through the lens of the past with a negative heaviness that I could never quite put a finger on.  

What I have learned is that my repeated Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANTS - See Dr. Amen’s work if you want more) were the culprit behind me adding negative emotional unconscious fuel to my “stuff”.

Now, let’s take the human body.   The natural state of the human body is “to heal” and regenerate physically.  It was designed that way and does remarkably well without additional conscious effort from us, unless there is a medical condition, of course.  

What about our mindset, and how it relates to our physical bodies, as we look through the lens of the same concept above?  

When we have something negative showing up in our minds, our emotional body or physical bodies; Ask yourself the same question?

If I am being completely honest with myself, are my thoughts, repeated actions and mindset helping or hurting this situation currently, AND, as I move into the future?

What if... We could convince and train our mental and emotional states to naturally and automatically move towards health, homeostasis, regeneration and repair; without us having to make a conscious effort?  It is possible.

What (3) practices could you adopt on a daily basis to prime the mind and body for optimal health?  

What practice do you have, to envision a healthier, less stressful, more JOYful YOU?

It is easy to point out the sedentary body… What about the sedentary mind?
