Maintaining FIRE under your Goals

 You know, I bet there was a time when you wrote your goals down for the new year with electrifying passion….

The new health routines you would start, the companies you would begin,The new fire you would bring to relationships, simply doing new little things to have a new lifestyle for yourself and your family.

It all became so crystal clear, it made you shiver with delight.  But, that was a long time ago… now when you sit at your desk with journal in hand and try to recreate it…to dream again… to conjure up some magical new future out of thin air,  just like the old days…..It feels like the fire is gone, you try to tap into that old Heat, and yet, you feel nothing. 

Your current goals carry no fire. :(

What has happened?  Some would say that you've grown wiser and that you put away the childish behaviors that “they” once knew you for, and perhaps that you've become more realistic.

That may be true for you… but here's what I know is true for you too……That… “YOU” inside that yearns for the fire to be sparked again; That… “YOU”,  he or she,  is still in there, buried beneath a decade of dead days….or maybe even 20 years of hard, misaligned life…. Imagination and creativity muscles have withered and atrophied, not from a  lack of desire or ambition…. But because of a lack of trust, the days and nights of not following through on your promises, the lack of integrity, not holding true to your “word”.

Every time you tell yourself you'll do something but you don't… every project you quit halfway through, every promise of execution you make and then break to yourself…All in all, it's just another brick in the wall.

And so, brick by brick, month by month, year by year, you slowly go Comfortably Numb to your own life….  This has you slowly but surely losing faith in your own ability to make your dreams, deepest desires, and future, manifest  and collapse into this REALITY.
